RAINBOW MIXED USE DEVELOPMENT

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota

The 200,000-square-foot mixed-use development was designed to encourage social interaction between residents. A series of shared “public” exterior spaces and bridges were strategically positioned to increase accidental interactions between. The housing complex was divided into two main volumes, providing light and ventilation to the interior of the housing units. In addition to forty units of housing, the overall development included shops, offices, retail spaces, and restaurants, as well as underground parking.
