The redesign transforms the Minneapolis Institute of Art’s entry lobby to support the museum’s new strategic plan; emphasizing and strengthening audience engagement. The scope of the 9,000 sf project includes the redesign of the entry experience in the upper and lower lobby spaces of the wing designed by architect Kenzo Tange. The project incorporates new amenities including a new coffee shop and wine bar, public open seating areas, interactive technologies, a renovated family room, ticketing and visitor services. The project required design for flexibility and accommodates a range of formal and informal events that are supported by the MIA. Our services included full architectural and interior design, custom furnishings design, graphic design and way-finding.
